DR MEENA GNANASHEKARAN,

M.D, DAPBN, American Board Certified Psychiatrist.

Dr. Meena is an American Board Certified Psychiatrist, practicing Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. She specializes in the treatment of Mood Disorders (Major Depressive disorders and the Bipolar Spectrum), and Anxiety Disorders (including phobias, OCD, Social Anxiety disorders). She combines her knowledge and experience with empathy and applies an integrative model of treating the mind, body and spirit for optimal effectiveness.

Dr.Meena studied at the Medical School M.B.B.S at Madras Medical College, Chennai, India. Adult Psychiatry Residency University of South Dakota School Of Medicine, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, University of South Dakota School Of Medicine.

Ms. Rohini Rajeev,

MSW (Medicine and Psychiatry)

Rohini is a senior psychotherapist and counselling supervisor with more than 11 years of clinical and corporate clinical practice. 8 years out of which, she was the social counsellor for Robert Bosch El India, where she individually established, defined and ran the in-house employee assistance program. Her areas of experience and expertise include psychotherapy for different levels of distress, conflict management, grief counselling, grievance handling in case of sexual harassment issues in relationships.

Dr.T.VARKEY

M.A.(Psychology), MPhil. M.&S.P.,PhD (NIMHANS)

Dr.T.Varkey has more than 26 years of experience in the field of behavioural health and psychological disorders.

He is an enthusiastic, skilled and self-motivated Clinical Psychologist with an impressive track record of helping and supporting people with stress and other related disorders. He has excellent clinical skills in intervention and management of various problems in every life stage, ranging from childhood to geriatric population. His main area of interest lies in stress and related disorders and relationship problems in marital and family life. He is trained equally in modern (western) clinical psychology and Eastern (Indian) psychological techniques like meditation and yoga and Indian Psychology.

    Smitha has extensive experience in crisis intervention and specializes in couples counseling and family therapy. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and brief solution focused psychotherapy to address stressful life events and help her clients reach their full potential.

    Smitha’s preferred clinical-theoretical perspective is cognitive-behavioral therapy, brief solution-focused and family systems therapies, and she also utilizes insight oriented, reality based, existential and behavioral techniques as appropriate and indicated.

    Smitha sees her role as a therapist to help her clients reach their full potential by empowering them and guiding them through the process of therapy. Her philosophy is that helping clients recognize their inner strength leads to the path of recovery. She also believes therapy continues to work long after therapy has ended. She is very empathic and non judgmental in her approach and makes her clients feel very comfortable during their difficult, stressful and often uncomfortable situations.

    Ms.Shilpashree

    M.Sc (Psychology), Clinical Psychologist

    Shilpa is a psychologist with a special interest in children and adults facing mood disorders and transitional issues. She manages all our patients for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation which is the current non medication outpatient intervention approved by the FDA in 2008.

    Prior to starting her practice at ReACH she worked at Columbia Asia Hospitals providing counselling for hospital patients. Shilpa helps clients in crisis situations and connecting them with appropriate treatment options. She has worked as a private practitioner, in a hospital setting and in outpatient clinics and has extensive clinical experience working with the child, adolescent and adult populations. Her interests includes working with dual diagnoses and addictions, couples and family therapy for various clinical presentations such as Mood disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Communication or Relationship problems, work and school frustrations among others. Coming from a diverse background, she understands the challenges faced by our children, adolescents and adults in the melting pot that is Bengaluru.

    Shilpa has experience in assessment and psychotherapy for a wide range of disorders. She provides parental guidance, counselling, individual therapy for children and adults. She uses her skills and expertise to assist clients in recognizing their strengths and overcoming life barriers.

    Ms. Lakshmi Ananda

    M.Sc (Clinical Psychology), Psychologist

    Lakshmi offers therapy for individuals, couples, and families at Columbia Asia Hospital, Yeshwanthpur and ReACH Psychiatric Clinics.Lakshmi is passionate about helping children and adolescents with ADHD reach their potential, Lakshmi is also passionate about working with clients experiencing grief, new or chronic medical issues, and mood disorders in addition to other life stressors and transitions. She enjoys working with a team approach to treat clients so a client’s every need is thoroughly addressed in a supportive environment. Lakshmi has an empathetic, compassionate and approachable style and has found Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Short Term Solution Focused Therapy techniques to be very useful in her practice. She also integrates relaxation and mindfulness approaches into her sessions and tailors each intervention to her client’s specific needs. Lakshmi can provide support for: relationship issues ~ depression ~ anxiety ~ parent-child difficulties ~ anger management ~ grief/loss.

    Ms.AnanyaKulkarni

    Ananya treats children, adolescents and Adults with a wide range of psychiatric disorders at ReACH Psychiatry and Columbia Asia Hospital, Yeshwanthpur. Her special areas of interest are depressive mood and anxiety disorders, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry. She uses a holistic and integrative approach combining brief psychotherapy, lifestyle modification, and medication management to meet the needs for each patient. Ananya is willing to tailor-make her approach with each patient to suit their individual needs, she is compassionate and empathetic towards each person’s needs. Ananya integrates her compassionate style with systemic approaches, cognitive behavioural techniques, and mindfulness practices to meet your needs and personal goals.
